Contact us
Email is the way to reach us, and a well-described message gets a better answer than a quick one. Here is where to write, what to include, and what we can realistically help with.
How to reach us
Write to info@pdfteka.com. That is the only channel: we have no phone line and no live chat, and we would rather say so than run a chat widget nobody answers.
Please write in English if you can, and give the message a clear subject line — “Bug”, “Feature request”, “Data protection request”, “Legal” — because that decides who reads it first and how quickly.
When you can expect a reply
We read everything that arrives. We aim to answer within a few working days, but we are a small team, so that is an aim rather than a guarantee — a message sent over a weekend or a public holiday will wait its turn.
Requests with a legal deadline are different. A data protection request under the GDPR or UK GDPR is answered within one month of receipt, as the law requires; if it will take longer, we will tell you before that month is out and explain why.
If you have heard nothing after two weeks, please send the message again. Spam filters occasionally swallow things in both directions.
Reporting a bug
Bug reports are genuinely useful, and the more specific the better. Tell us the address of the tool you were using, your browser and its version, your operating system, what you did, what you expected and what actually happened. Quote any error message word for word, and say whether it happens every time or only once.
Please do not attach the document. We do not want it: the entire point of this site is that your files never reach us, and one support attachment would undo that. If the problem clearly depends on the file, describe it instead — how many pages, scanned or born-digital, which language, roughly how large — or build a small sample that contains no real data.
A screenshot of the page, with anything confidential cropped out, is often more useful than a long description.
Data protection requests
Write to info@pdfteka.com with “Data protection request” in the subject line to exercise any right under the GDPR or UK GDPR: access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability. The privacy page sets out exactly what little we hold.
It helps to know in advance how little there is to act on. We hold no accounts and no files. The only personal data we handle is web server log entries — an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested and a browser string — and we cannot identify a person from those. If you want us to search for entries about you, include the IP address you used and the approximate date and time.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority: in the EEA, the data protection authority where you live, work or where the problem arose; in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office. You do not have to contact us first, although we would like the chance to help.
Feature requests and new tools
If a tool you need is missing, tell us what you are trying to achieve rather than which button you want. The underlying task is the thing we can design for, and it often turns out that an existing tool already does the job in a way that was not obvious — the step-by-step guides walk through several of those cases.
Requests that arrive repeatedly move up the list. We cannot promise a date for any of them, and we will say so plainly instead of putting your idea on an imaginary roadmap.
Legal, press and business enquiries
Copyright complaints, legal notices, partnership proposals and press questions go to the same address, with “Legal” or “Press” in the subject line. Include enough detail for us to act on: a bare demand with no specifics will only earn a request for more information.
What we cannot help with
We cannot recover a file you have lost. We never had a copy, so there is nothing on our side to restore — check your downloads folder and your device's trash first.
We cannot undo a download for you, remove a password from a document you do not own, or tell you what your document means. We do not give legal, tax or medical advice about the paperwork you are processing, and we cannot certify, notarise or witness anything.
For everything else — including whether some particular workflow is possible with these tools — just ask. A short question is welcome, and the answer costs us nothing.
